How Your Degree Classification is Calculated

• Total credits: The classification is based on 180 credits.
• Level 10 modules: All level 10 modules (code format XXX10XXX) are automatically included. A minimum of 100 level 10 credits is required.
• Level 9 modules: Level 9 modules (code format XXX09XXX) fill the remaining credits, with the highest marks selected first.
• Credit weighting: 20-credit modules count once, 40-credit modules count twice, and 60-credit modules count three times in the average calculation.
• Disaggregation: Level 9 modules with 40 or 60 credits may be partially included (e.g., only 20 credits of a 40-credit module) to optimise your average.

Classification Boundaries

• First Class (1st): 70% or above
• Upper Second (2:1): 60% - 69%
• Lower Second (2:2): 50% - 59%
• Third Class (3rd): 40% - 49%
