Database Systems

These notes cover a range of basic topics on relational database technology and briefly mention NoSQL as an alternative approach. Please use them to complement any other material that you may be using in your introductory studies in the area.

The practical exercises are based on SQLzoo for learning SQL, and then make use of the free Oracle Express application. Links are provided throughout, and you will find several of them gathered together on the resources page. If you come across any broken links, please let me know.
